Corbelled Dome Roofs

THE ROOF OF A CORBELLED DOME is exceptionally strong. Domes can easily be bermed, buried or carry the weight of a 9-inch thick living roof. Terra cotta tile, thatch, Ferro-cement, mortared stone, slate, wooden, metal or asphalt shingles are all suitable roofing materials dictated by the climate and design of the building. In a frost-free climate such as the Bahamas, sculpted lime/cement stucco with mosaic tile would be both practical and stunning.
